Skælskør Amatør Sejlklub is a part of the project in Slagelse Kommune called 'Maritimt Knudepunkt Slagelse' - MKS.
The purpose of this project is to focus on the long costal line of Slagelse Kommune - both the commercial use, the leasure use and the turist use of the waters and the large influence it has on the life in this area.
Skælskør Amatør Sejlklub wants as a part of this project to expand our capacity and attraction to our members and to our visitors. Our history goes back to 1915, when the fishermen of the community decided to establish a club, where the could enjoy leasure sailing. This decision has since the brought many young and older people very many good experiences on the the water.
Our Club has projects to expand our capacity, which now is limited by the numbers of moorings we have in our harbour. We have always been forced to live wtih long waitinglists for the moorings, and as the boats become larger and larger, the need for more moorings has grown. In our projects are also plans to make better conditions for our younger sailors, through a new house for optimists, sails and equipment, a new bridge, a new crane for launching coach boats and a better toilet and bathing site for all our sailers.
These projects are all part of the project MKS, where our members participant as an active part of the projectgroup together with Slagelse Kommune and their advisors.
In relation with MKS, Slagelse Kommune has made a questionare, which we kindly ask all our guests to fill out. The questionare can be found in our clubhouse. We thank alle for their cooperation.
